On Friday the 13th Israel scrambled 200 fighter jets, hitting over 100 different military and nuclear installations in Iran. The Pentagon was well aware an Israeli strike was imminent–as predicted Thursday night by a gimmick account dedicated to tracking activity at pizza delivery places and bars in closest proximity to the Pentagon.
The unilateral Israeli operation wiped out essentially all of Iran’s military officials atop the chain of command. Some Iranian political leaders have fled the country, reportedly seeking refuge in Moscow. The fleeing regime, which pinky-promised they weren’t building up a nuclear weapons program, presumably has no comment on the radioactive leak detected in the Natanz region.
Who knows what comes next? Some foreign affairs experts have predicted a regime change is coming; a power vacuum in an unstable nation naturally begs the issue, but that hinges upon the effectiveness of Israel’s ongoing incursion into Iran, and a variety of geopolitical factors.
At time of writing, Israel has twice formally requested American assistance in its war to end Iran’s rogue nuclear weapons program. The Trump Administration has, so far, declined. Notably, what’s left of Iran’s power structure has vowed retaliatory action against US military bases in the region.
