First Liberty

Dear John,
Gail Blair, a blind resident of Westerly, Rhode Island, was simply
sitting on a park bench having a conversation when the park director
approached her threatening to call police.
Why? Gail was doing what she did routinely. She was sharing her faith
in a public park.

Up until she lost her sight, Gail served her community as a nurse. But
as her sight faded, she found a new purpose sharing the Gospel with
others in Wilcox Park near her home.
Gail would sit or stand in the park and politely ask people as they
walked by if they would like to engage in a conversation about faith.
Talking about faith in a public park should never be crime. But Gail
was issued a formal "Trespass Warning" and threatened with
arrest if she entered the park at any time during the next two years.
Gail is not one to let fear win the day. Instead, she fought back. And
I am humbled to say that she chose First Liberty to fight with her.
Watch Gail as she tells you what happened next.

When the park administrators tried to shut her down, Gail stood strong
and won an important victory for all of us.
Today, ALL Americans are free to share their faith knowing that they
too can face any threat of retaliation...all because a blind woman
stood her ground when her faith came under attack.
