Jenny here, folks, Mark Warner’s finance director.
I’m going to be direct and ask you to pitch in ahead of our fundraising deadline tonight at midnight, but first, I want to tell you the 3 reasons why this particular deadline is so important.
1. At the end of the month, we’ll file a public report with the Federal Election Commission, who will then make our numbers public. If we can’t show that we have the resources we need to win, Republicans will see it as an opportunity to spend big in Virginia to defeat Senator Warner and expand their foothold of power.
2. For the past six months, Mark has been the leading voice in Washington calling out the Trump administration’s corruption every step of the way. And he’s also not afraid to call out his Republican colleagues who continue to stay silent while Trump completely dismantles our federal government. That means his seat could be a top Republican target in next year's election. We need to be prepared for one or more billionaire Republicans to sweep in with a massive super PAC against Mark.
3. We fell short of our projections last month, and we’re still playing catch up. If we fall short again, we’re at risk of not being able to push back against whatever dark money ads are coming our way.
So I need to ask: if you can, will you chip in right now? We still need to raise $5,102 to reach our mid-month benchmark before midnight tonight.
