Hi John, Loretta here. I’m George’s wife, mother of our two children, author, leadership trainer, and former astrobiologist.

Today is Father’s Day, and I wanted to take a moment to appreciate everything my husband George does – not only in Congress, but in the community, at home with our family and our whole extended family. (We've got the whole clan together this weekend!)

It’s not easy being in Congress and committed to parenting teenagers on a different coast, in a different time zone. I’ll admit, it has its challenges. But that is what we signed up for when George decided he was running for Congress.

It was a true joy to watch him shine on the campaign trail, and ultimately become one of just a few Democrats to flip a Republican-held seat back in November. Now, he’s commuting back and forth between the district and Washington with barely a moment’s time for himself (seriously).

I couldn’t be more proud. He’s always had our community’s best interests at heart – from leading hundreds of engineers and technicians in the AV with heart, to helping organize our community’s Covid response, to bringing people together to solve the wildfire crisis, and now representing us in Congress.

This Father's Day let's thank him by giving him a day off. If we raise enough money today maybe he won't have to spend as much time on the phone making sure he has raised enough money for the next election. (His seat is going to be extremely competitive once again.)

It also sends a message to anyone thinking of running against him.

We like George. Go try to out spend someone else.
