Hi John,

You’re invited to join OLCV’s summer book club! This year, for the first time ever, we’re inviting you to join all of our staff to discuss the following book: Love Your Mother by Mallory McDuff [[link removed]]. If you’d like to be a part of our book club, we invite you to sign up [[link removed]] and purchase the book soon!

OLCV’s staff and board are committed to creating a culture of justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion. In addition to our coalition and legislative work on intersectional issues, our staff work internally to learn and unlearn our history and biases. One way that our staff does this work is by meeting weekly to explore the intersections between our work and environmental and social justice. We read articles and books, listen to podcasts, watch informative documentaries and TV shows, and discuss how we can improve in our own work. We often have a theme for our learning each month.

As part of this, every year, OLCV’s staff partake in an equity summer learning project-- something bigger like a podcast series, a book, or a docuseries. This year, we’ve chosen to read Love Your Mother by Mallory McDuff and open the conservation up to any of our members! There will be more information on our meetings to come, but for now please get your hands on a copy of Love Your Mother by Mallory McDuff [[link removed]] and be sure you’ve signed up to join [[link removed]].

Sincerely,
Sarah Kline (she/they)
