It happened, Donald Trump tried to turn the 250th birthday of the United States Army into something about himself.
He sought to make the focus a massive advertisement for his friends and donors. Just… take a look, JOHN.
He just couldn’t avoid turning it into an advertisement for his own products, either.
And even with all of that, this is the best he could do.
If you’re going to force thousands of American Soldiers to show up on a rainy Saturday and march for your enjoyment, the least you could do is look happy about it. Instead, he pouted all day.
Trump finally got what he wanted. His own big Military parade. Hope it was worth the $45 million (at least), cancelling flights from Washington National Airport, closing dozens of streets in the capital, and redirecting critical National Security resources and personnel at a boiling point moment between Iran and Israel.
Back on planet earth, thousands of Marines and Guard Troops are deployed on American soil against American citizens. Political violence is escalating. Veterans are struggling to get the care and services they need. And Trump’s GOP continues to push through a budget that takes resources for working families and Veterans and hands them to the absolute richest people in the country.
