Today is Father’s Day, John.

This is a difficult day for many, including me. My father died when I was twelve years old.

Everything changed when I was six when my dad was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. Many of my memories are of listening to doctors and watching my parents try and hold it together.

Now, decades later, my dad continues to inspire me. He had the strongest work ethic I’ve seen – even at his most ill, he still went out of his way to do his job to help others.

It’s why I’m running for Congress for families like mine.

My story is far from unique. Families are struggling and being hit from all directions – the high cost of living, expensive health scares, the list goes on.

It doesn’t help that this Administration is actively making life harder for millions of Americans. And my opponent Young Kim is going along with it. When Trump’s Republicans voted to gut Medicaid by billions, she was right there – despite promising CA-40 she would never cut Medicaid.

So, as I remember my father today, I’m doing my best to honor his memory in this race.

Thank you,

Christina
