John,
This Father's Day, we're
celebrating hardworking dads and father figures who are
providing for their families and giving them a shot at a better
future. This includes our own fathers who motivate our work at No Kid
Hungry every day!
To me, my dad was simply the person who always did what was necessary.
When I was a kid, he'd hoist me onto his shoulders at a parade so I
could see. He had a servant's heart. His principled nature
inspired me to choose a career where I have the privilege of serving
others.
- Stacie Sanchez, Director of No Kid Hungry Texas
My father was born and raised in Eritrea where he earned $30 a month
in his first job. Today, he is a lawyer in the U.S. Reflecting on his
life, I am reminded of the profound impact that access to simple
resources like education and food can have on a child's future. This
fuels my commitment to supporting initiatives that provide families
and children with the tools they need to succeed.
- Martha Haile, Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis
My dad grew up in China during the Cultural Revolution when education
was disrupted and food rationing was common. His story taught me the
importance of creating societies and systems that create stability for
kids. This is what drove me to help create better systems to make sure
we can feed more kids nutritious food.
- Julian Xie, Director of Medicaid and Benefits
Integration.

Stacie's, Martha's and Julian's fathers all helped
guide them to their work to help kids get the food they need. This
includes supporting fathers like Patrick who go above and beyond today
to provide a better life for their kids.
As a married father of three in Ohio, Patrick cares for his 3-year-old
son and 7- and 11-year-old daughters full-time while studying at night
to become a licensed electrician.
Alongside his wife, Patrick is working toward building lasting
financial stability for his family. Thanks to critical nutrition
benefits like SNAP and the work of No Kid Hungry, he doesn't
have to worry about his family getting healthy meals. Instead, Patrick
can focus on his career. He says it's been a relief lately to
see his young son open the fridge and find fresh food.
"SNAP benefits are more than just a handout," Patrick
says. "They're a hand up for my family. It is making all the
difference in my life right now."
This Father's Day, we want to express our sincere gratitude to
you for supporting dads like Patrick in the mission we share together.
Thank you for helping us ensure kids have the meals they need to
thrive.
We wish you and your family a wonderful Father's Day.
- Team No Kid Hungry
P.S. You can give a "hand up" to more dads like Patrick
and honor a father in your life with a tribute gift today. Please make
a gift now to support dads and help their kids access the nutritious
food they need.
