Let's Celebrate Fathers Everywhere

Dear Friend,
Today, we honor dads, grandfathers and
all of the special father figures who have made an impact on our
lives.
While many of us will gather to celebrate, we recognize that
this can be an especially difficult day for many - particularly
for those who have lost a dad or grandfather to Alzheimer's disease.
If you're thinking of such a father figure today, our hearts are with
you. We will always honor and cherish our loved ones and those we have
lost. As we continue the fight against Alzheimer's, they remain a key
motivator in our work.
We also fight on behalf of the men who are facing the
challenges of Alzheimer's today. As I write this email, there are more
than 2.8 million men age 65 and older who are living with Alzheimer's
in the United States - and millions more are at risk. With your
support, we're accelerating critical research, as well as providing
care and support to all who have been impacted by this devastating
disease.
With the number of Alzheimer's diagnoses on the rise, many men
are taking on the role of caregiver. We're so grateful for their
dedication and compassion, and for the generosity of all those who
help further our mission to lead the way to end Alzheimer's and all
other dementia - by accelerating global research, driving risk
reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and
support.
Thanks to your support of our community, we're able to address
our key priorities to:
* Provide support to individuals and caregivers through our free
24/7 Helpline (800.272.3900) and online resources at alz.org,
like our

resources in your community - addressing barriers to
conversations either with a loved one or about their own
thinking and memory with their health care providers.

* Drive scientific progress through our current investment in more
than 1,150 active best-of-field projects in 57
countries?- including new strategies for earlier
diagnosis.
* Advocate for public policy that will increase federal research
funding and persuade lawmakers to make the fight against
Alzheimer's a national priority.
Our work is far from done, Friend. For
fathers and families everywhere, we vow to continue this critical work
until everyone living with dementia of any kind - at any stage
- can get the treatment, care and support they need and
deserve.
Thank you to all the amazing men in our lives -
especially those we call dad. And thank you for your commitment in the
fight against Alzheimer's.
Gratefully,
Michael Reich

P.S. Dads teach us to help and inspire others. Today, you can
make them proud by making 3X the difference in the fight with your
first gift during Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month. This
special opportunity to bring three times the help and hope to those
impacted by Alzheimer's is made possible thanks to a generous donor
who wishes to remain anonymous. They have pledged to triple-match all
gifts, up to $183,000 in support of research - but only if we
can reach this goal by midnight June 16.
