Monday, June 9, 2025: On Saturday, I was in Dalton in Whitfield County in Northwest Georgia for the annual GOP state convention, where I participated in a number of events, including a Congressional Panel Victory forum along with my fellow Georgia delegation member and good friend, Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA). Barry and I served in the Georgia State legislature together for 10 years, and both came to Congress in 2015. I also spoke at the Pro-Life Prayer service and to the full convention. After flying back to Washington this morning, I’m in my office on Capitol Hill and have a call with the Secretary of the Army, Dan Driscoll, to discuss the upcoming visit this week of the Coastal Georgia Military Affairs Coalition, a group of elected officials and representatives from the Fort Stewart area (Liberty, Bryan and Chatham counties) with Army staff at the Pentagon. Afterwards, I join in on a District staff call, followed by my monthly meeting with our office consultant, Mark Sobol. Next, I have our weekly meeting of the Energy and Commerce (E&C) health subcommittee before heading to our E&C monthly Chair/Vice Chair meeting. Once back in our office, I have a series of meetings, including with our scheduling staff, communications staff, and legislative staff. After heading to our weekly Whip team meeting, I head to the House Chamber for our first vote series of the week and afterwards pay tribute to the Georgia Pharmacists Association (GPhA) as they are celebrating their 150th anniversary. Next, I head to a meeting of the Main Street Caucus where we hear from White House Domestic Policy Council Director Vince Haley, who reviews the President’s domestic policy priorities.

Tuesday, June 10, 2025: After our weekly GOP conference meeting that is held off Capitol Hill this week, I head to the House Chamber where I pay tribute to Greg Parker of Parker’s Kitchen who has been named 2025 Retailer of the Year, the City of Savannah for being named a top honeymoon destination, Robert Hedley, who has been named Georgia Southern University Student Organization Leader of the Year, and Greg Pappas, owner of the Olympia Café in Savannah, who recently passed. Once back in our office, I have a virtual interview with WSAV TV in Savannah to discuss the expansion of the ICE facility in Folkston in Charlton County before joining in on our all-staff conference call. Next, I meet with Dave Cocagne, Chairman of Silver Birch Living, a company that develops Affordable Assisted Living communities and is based out of Chicago. Later, I meet with representatives from the Savannah Chamber of Commerce before meeting with the CEO of Gray Media, Howard Hilton, and then heading to the House Chamber for our first vote series of the day. Later, I meet with Bradly Talbert, CEO of Memorial Health in Savannah, as well as other hospital CEO’s throughout the state to discuss health care policies. After a meeting with the Healthcare Group Purchasing Industry Initiative (HGPII), I head back to the House Chamber for our second and last vote series of the day. Afterwards, I remain in the Chamber and pay tribute to St. Simons Island as one of the best vacation spots in the country. After heading off Capitol Hill to meet with the Coastal Georgia Military Affairs Coalition, I head back to the Capitol Plaza steps where I take part in a bipartisan prayer vigil led by Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) and Minority Leader Hakeen Jeffers (D-NY) honoring the memory of Sarah Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky, the two Israel Embassy workers who were gunned down outside the Capital Jewish Museum in an act of antisemitism last month. Sarah and Yaron were planning to travel to Israel four days after they were murdered to meet his family and become engaged.

Wednesday, June 11, 2025: My first meeting of the day is with my good friends Jerry and Mark Konter of Savannah, who are visiting with members of the Home Builders Association of Georgia. Konter Homes is one of the most successful homebuilding companies in our District, and both Jerry and Mark have been very involved in their professions State and National organizations. After a productive meeting, I meet with the President and CEO of Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM), Dr. Valerie Montgomery Rice, to learn of the great work being done at this important medical school in our State. Next, as Chair, I gavel in the E&C Health subcommittee hearing on American-made medicine and domestic supply chains and give my opening statement before stepping out to an E&C Environment subcommittee hearing on National Air Ambient Quality Standards (NAAQS) so I can be counted as present when the hearing is gaveled in. As the former chair of the Environment subcommittee, I am one of the first to be in line for questions if I am present when the meeting starts. Later, I meet with Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler Harper (R-Ocilla) and members of the Ag community for an update on Ag issues in Georgia. After heading off Capitol Hill for a meeting with my E&C colleague and good friend Rep. Gary Palmer (R-AL), I head back to Capitol Hill and the House Chamber, where I speak during debate of the HALT Fentanyl Act. Once back in our office, I meet with Lady Laura Bahena Diaz, a student at Woodville-Tompkins High School in Savannah, to congratulate her on winning the Capitol Hill Challenge (CHC), a financial education program that teaches students the value of the capital markets. Afterwards, I meet with the CEO and co-founder of Denali Therapeutics, followed by a meeting with the CEO of AdvaMed. After joining in on a virtual call with the Network for Collaborative Oncology Development & Advancement (NCODA), I have a meeting with the CEO of Virta before heading to the House Chamber for votes. Next, I pay tribute to Rachel Kinsaul, from Morgan County, who has recently been named the 2026 Georgia Teacher of the Year. My final event of the day is a policy roundtable with the Consumer Technology Association (CTA).

Thursday, June 12, 2025: I’m off Capitol Hill this morning as I am honored to be the keynote speaker at the Health Industry Distributors Association before heading back to the Capitol where I speak at a roundtable with FIGS and The Pitt with special guest Noah Wyle in support of the Dr. Lorna Breen Provider Protection Act. Once back in our office, I meet with the CEO of Sandoz, followed by a meeting with Natera. Next, I head to a meeting with The Zionist Organization of America’s (ZOA) before heading to an E&C Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade (CMT) hearing on Name, Image and Likeness (NIL). After a meeting with PTC Therapeutics in our office, I meet with the Global Business Alliance before heading to the House Chamber for votes and paying tribute to the Frederica Academy Baseball team from St. Simons Island for their first baseball team state title. Once back in our office, I meet with Clover Health before recording this weeks edition of Buddy’s Briefings and heading to the Airport for my return trip home.

Friday, June 13, 2025: I’m in Atlanta and live on NewsMax this morning as we discuss the Israel-Iran situation and other news of the day. After a meeting downtown, I join a phone conference with my Georgia Congressional colleague Rep. Austin Scott (R-GA) and the head of Legislative Affairs for the Department of State to discuss the future of Ready to Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF). My week ends with a series of calls, including with a constituent and members of my staff.
