I’m off to celebrate with Miranda and our girls today, but first I wanted to drop you a note because I’m thinking about what it means to be a father in our day and age. I’m thinking about the future – not just politics or policy, but the kind of world I want my daughters to grow up in.
I want a world where working families have the opportunity to thrive amidst rising costs and stagnant wages. Where they’re afforded high-quality public schools in their communities – and access to healthcare that doesn’t break the bank.
JOhn, becoming a dad changed everything for me. It sharpened my sense of purpose and made every decision feel more urgent. When I step onto the House floor, I do it thinking about the life I want my girls to have: one where their rights are protected, their climate is stable, and their democracy is strong.
