Happy Father’s Day. Today I
want to take a moment to honor my own father, Arthur Pappas.

Working with my dad taught me the value of serving others and to treat
everyone who walked in the doors of our restaurant with dignity and
respect, regardless of their background.

My father helped build our family business, the Puritan Backroom, into a
New Hampshire institution through hard work, long hours, and an unshakable
commitment to community.

He always reminded me that success isn’t just about what you achieve for
yourself – it’s about how you treat others and what you give back to the
community that made it possible.

Growing up watching him hustle in the kitchen, manage hundreds of
employees, and treat every customer like family taught me lessons I carry
with me to this day: Work hard, stay humble, and always help others in any
way you can.

Across New Hampshire and the country, fathers – in all their forms – are
doing that same work every day. They’re guiding kids through tough times,
putting in extra shifts, showing up for their communities, and shaping the
next generation through the example they set.

I’m endlessly grateful for mine.

Wishing you and yours a happy and meaningful Father’s Day.

With gratitude,

Chris
