Thank you to everyone who made Saturday's No Kings Day protest a great success.

At least 50,000 people participated in our march from Dolores Park and rally at Civic Center. Speakers and singers from local resistance organizations called out and opposed both the wannabe king occupying the White House and his MAGA regime.

In the meantime, we were able to turn out hundreds to the 7 AM mobilization at the ICE office at 478 Tehama, and we were able to prevent any detentions from happening there. And, our friends at the Human Banner at Ocean Beach also saw hundreds and made a beautiful and powerful image.

Nationally, more than 2,000 protests across the country drew millions of people to loudly proclaim "No kings in America" and "Freedom from autocracy." No midnight raids by masked kidnappers. No troops patrolling our streets, guns pointed at peaceful protestors. No slashing and burning vital services to enrich wealthy allies and patrons. No more lawlessness and terror tactics from the White House. Thank you for being part of this effort.

But one protest does not a successful resistance make.

The MAGA regime remains determined to impose on us un-democratic, authoritarian rule. They remain committed to rolling back the human and civil rights gains of the past century while increasing the wealth and power of the ruling elite at our expense. So our organizing, protesting, lobbying, voter registration, and election work have to continue.

Here’s what you can do right now.

** Protect immigrants at 478 Tehama TOMORROW, Sunday, June 15 at 7 AM.
------------------------------------------------------------
At the same time as our No Kings protest, many of our friends at Bay Resistance and Mission Action picketed the ICE office at 478 Tehama, to which many immigrants in the legal process had been called. Many immigrants who got similar notices around the state got detained, so that’s what would have happened here — but it didn’t, because you showed up! A huge thank you to those of you who went — and now we need you to do it again.

Join Bay Resistance and Mission Action at 478 Tehama, Sunday, June 15 at 7 AM. This is a peaceful, nonviolent action and we expect you to keep it that way. They may need picketers all day, so stop by even if it’s later in the morning.

** Volunteer with Trans March on Friday, June 27.
------------------------------------------------------------
Our event monitoring and march safety team was led by the incredibly courageous, disciplined, and experienced folks at Trans March. Their namesake event is in two weeks and they are looking for volunteers. If you want more experience doing safety monitoring at a protest march, or you want to get started, this is an amazing opportunity to really show your pride in our wonderful trans community. The Trans March takes place on Friday, June 27.

** Join the People’s March on Sunday, June 22.
------------------------------------------------------------
You may have heard our amazing speaker Alex U. Inn (unless, perhaps, you were in the back of our seemingly endless march). They are a tireless two-spirit activist of color in San Francisco, and along with Juanita More, they hold a yearly march uplifting the LGBTQIA+ community and fighting fascism.

Join this warm, community-driven celebration of our beautiful and powerful communities here in San Francisco. More info here. ([link removed])

** Freedom is not free
------------------------------------------------------------
Indivisible SF and 50501SF laid out more than $7,000 for the No Kings protest. The costs included the permits, sound truck, sound system, audio labor, printer ink, food and water, tables, tents, vests, and so much more. It was a major expense for us, and we now need to recover those costs in order to fund what will surely be a long and active summer of resistance to wannabe kings and aristocrats. Please contribute your donation.

Already donated to us? If you still have some spare cash kicking around, send it to our wonderful friends at SF Pride. They have been abandoned by donors who, unlike us, cower before Trump. So they need money for insurance and supplies to make their event happen at the same scale and quality as before.

Together, we have accomplished something historic today. We’ve stood against a budding fascist regime and we showed the world that we’re here, resisting with power, discipline and optimism. Every one of you showed inspirational courage to step out on the street in these scary times. Thank you.

We’ll see you again on the streets.

With love and solidarity,
The Indivisible SF Team and 50501SF
