I'm back in Vermont, and BOY am I happy to be out of town during Trump's $45 million military parade. 🙄

It’s ridiculous, John. While American families are stuck bearing the brunt of Trump’s disastrous policies and billionaire-first budget, he’s spending tens of millions of dollars on self-congratulatory military events that only serve to stoke his ego.

This frivolous spending isn’t just an insult to working families who can barely make ends meet — it toes the line of fascism.

A sitting U.S. President is using taxpayer dollars to fund an ego-driven parade. Meanwhile, his proposed budget will cause millions of Americans to lose their health care, food assistance will be ripped away from low-income families, and rural hospitals across the country, including here in Vermont, could be shuttered.

I'm in Congress to stand up for working families and bring their struggles and concerns to the forefront of our policies. I’ll never let Trump’s ego overshadow that.
