Friend,
It’s been 13 years since our movement won DACA – 13 years of organizing, people power, and a strong commitment to keeping each other safe in the face of so many threats and attempts to end the program’s protections.
Since winning DACA, immigrants have been able to continue to power their communities by finishing school, starting businesses, buying homes, and starting families. The 13th anniversary of DACA is a reminder that we power each other, and all of us — working people, immigrants, and educators — are coming together to keep our communities whole.
This week, we came together with community members and partners outside the Capitol to demand permanent protections for our immigrant communities.
Now it’s your turn to take action with us. Add your name to our petition and demand Congress pass permanent protections like the Dream and Promise Act.
DACA recipients are part of the fabric of our communities. DACA continues to be under attack by anti-immigrant forces, and ending DACA without permanent protections in place would devastate not only hundreds of thousands of DACA recipients and their families but all our communities at large.
For this DACA anniversary, we’re calling on all our communities to protect DACA recipients and all the people who power our communities. Can you take action today by signing our petition to DEMAND that your members of Congress support permanent protections like the Dream and Promise Act?

Congress reintroduced the Dream and Promise Act — a bill that could pave a pathway to citizenship for nearly 5 million immigrants in our community, including many DACA recipients as well as people with Temporary Protected Status (TPS).
The Dream and Promise Act is a crucial step in pushing forward change that protects our communities and the people who power them. This bill is a key way to make it clear to our lawmakers that they have a responsibility to keep our families and communities together!
From our school teachers to our neighbors next door, the Dream and Promise Act would provide stability and safety to millions of people who make our community a home.
With DACA hanging by a thread and hundreds of thousands of people at risk of losing TPS protections, the Dream and Promise Act would ensure families and communities aren’t torn apart by abductions and deportations.
In solidarity,
Juliana and the rest of the UWD team
