I refuse to sit back and watch as Donald Trump sends federal forces into Los Angeles to instill fear, target immigrant families, and turn our state into a stage for political theater.

While the MAGA Republicans carry out ICE raids in our neighborhoods, they also vote to defund Medicaid and SNAP—programs that help children, seniors, and working families survive. Their agenda isn’t about public safety. It’s about cruelty and distraction for the sake of staying in power.

I’ve met the people who Trump tries to paint as our enemies. I’ve fought alongside them as a firefighter and labor leader, advocating for their fair wages, safer workplaces, and the right to be treated with dignity and respect. Deploying the National Guard against our communities is dangerous, it’s un-American, and it’s not what California stands for.

I’ve spent my life standing up to injustice, and I’m not stopping now.
