John,
Billionaire Peter Thiel bankrolled JD Vance’s Senate campaign, then worked to make him Vice President of the United States. Now, Thiel is cashing in on his investment by securing government contracts for his surveillance company Palantir, using your tax dollars to build an authoritarian data machine that threatens the rights and safety of every American.
Palantir has already received over $113 million in federal contracts as part of a growing effort to consolidate personal data across agencies into a unified profile on every American.[1] Their technology can merge financial data, medical claims, student debt, even disability status, creating what insiders call a “master list” of citizen information. This gives a regime obsessed with enemies lists and political loyalty the tools to surveil, intimidate, and punish.
Thiel’s influence over this administration is clear. He provided $15 million to the pro-Vance Senate super PAC.[2] Without Thiel’s checkbook, there is no Vice President Vance.
Now that Vance sits at the right hand of the President, Thiel’s company is being paid with your money to build the digital backbone of the new regime. This is a coordinated oligarchic project to fund the candidates, install the loyalists, and seize the data of Americans for billionaires.
We have to fight back. Thiel is using his fortune to turn the federal government into an instrument of surveillance and political control. He has installed his allies in power, secured public contracts for his private empire, and now demands access to the most sensitive data on every American.
Tell Congress to block this data power grab, investigate the Palantir contracts, and shut down the billionaire surveillance state.
Our new report details how Peter Thiel has amassed a $21 billion fortune and much of it is sheltered in a tax-free Roth IRA, thanks to loopholes designed to help middle-class retirees.[3] That’s not a typo. Thiel has used retirement tax shelters, meant for everyday Americans, to hoard billions without paying a dime to support the country that made him rich.
Now, Republicans are proposing to eliminate the Social Services Block Grant, a $15 billion program that helps states fund childcare, protective services for children, and support for families in crisis. Over half of these services go to kids. The message is clear: Thiel’s right to hide $21 billion tax-free and build a surveillance empire is more important than whether working families can find safe and reliable childcare for their children.
This is what it looks like when democracy breaks. A billionaire who openly says he “no longer believes that freedom and democracy are compatible” is now writing the rules for the new administration.
Thiel bankrolls the Vice President. He wins federal contracts. He builds the surveillance tools. And he does it all while dodging taxes and dismantling public services. This is not a government of the people. It’s a government where billionaires cash out and working families are left behind.
We can stop this billionaire-led campaign to dismantle democracy. Every dollar that flows to Palantir, every data point collected, expands the reach of an unelected, unaccountable elite.
The only way to stop this is to confront it without compromise. Take action now to stop Trump and Palantir's mass data collection power grab!
Thank you for standing up against authoritarian billionaires and fighting for a democracy that belongs to all of us.
