Our democracy is up for auction as billionaire-backed super PACs bankroll primary wins for corporate-friendly candidates. If this continues, the Democratic Party might as well drop the pretense of being “for the people.”
It’s not just theoretical. In 2024 alone, the crypto-funded Fairshake PAC spent hundreds of millions to defeat progressives like Katie Porter, Jamaal Bowman, and Cori Bush. Half of Fairshake’s war chest came straight from crypto corporations, the rest from their billionaire owners. And while they openly supported Trump, they poured money into Democratic primaries to torpedo candidates who threatened their bottom line.
This isn’t democracy. It’s oligarchy in real-time. According to the damning report Billionaires Buying Elections, just 100 families spent $2.6 billion to influence elections in 2024, more than any super PAC or union ever could. With Citizens United still poisoning our politics, state Democratic Parties have a clear choice: stand with the people or sell out to billionaire funders.
We’re calling on all 50 State Democratic Parties to draw a line in the sand. Pass binding resolutions that ban candidates from accepting or benefiting from super PAC support during Democratic primaries. Period.

Let’s be clear, super PACs don’t “level the playing field.” They rig it. They amplify the voices of the wealthy, drown out grassroots organizers, and silence candidates who dare to put people over profits.
Crypto bros who tried to buy the presidency for Donald Trump shouldn’t get to pick our Democratic nominees. It’s that simple. And no Democratic candidate should be allowed to run under our banner while hiding behind super PAC ads funded by billionaires trying to dodge regulation.
We need a Democratic Party that actually reflects democratic values. That means ending the influence of corporate-funded super PACs in our primaries. The solution starts at the state level.
