Dear friends:

I love how my husband values older cars. He respects the engineering and ingenuity involved in their creation. Too often I am ready to give up on a vehicle and he says, "No! I think I can fix it ..." and he does.

As he works on yet another car, I am reminded of that grit and optimism when it comes to our Republic. Doing “politics” - being involved in your communities, and standing up for what you believe is challenging, but rewarding. Thank you for staying engaged!

You Should Know ...

Majority Matters. In our current State Senate those who DON’T share your values have a majority with vastly different priorities, such as: 

• Democrat Senators just introduced a resolution to make June 2025 "A resolution to recognize June 2025 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer+ (LGBTQ+) Pride Month."

• The House Bill banning boys from girls sports and locker rooms/bathrooms is stalled in the Senate Government Ops Committee with no action.

• Senate Bills 285, 286, & 287 passed that will amend Michigan's existing marriage laws to expand the list of individuals who are authorized officially perform marriages. This is not an innocuous bill package.

These Senate bills criminalize and fine clergy who officiate marriage ceremonies for couples seeking a spiritual union without a government permission slip. The bill package also contains many other dangerous elements that put women and the vulnerable at increased risk of coercion and exploitation. We need you to CONTACT your State Representatives and State Senators on these bills. They need to be amended to protect our 1st Amendment religious conscience rights and against any potential abuse.
