Primary Voter Guide: The Mayoral Candidates’ Plans
Early voting kicks off today in NYC's primary election!
A crowded field of Democratic mayoral candidates are vying for a spot on the November general election ballot, where they'll compete against (among others) incumbent Mayor Eric Adams, who's running as an independent.
With homelessness at record highs, City Limits asked the major Democratic contenders where they stand on shelters and housing vouchers, street and subway homelessness, and supportive housing. Read about their plans to address homelessness here.
And in a city where nearly half the population is foreign-born, and with the Trump administration ramping up ICE enforcement, here's what the candidates' shared on their plans for immigrant communities.
City Limits also a hosted a candidate forum earlier this spring focused on NYCHA and family homelessness. Missed it? Watch the conversation in full here (the video includes bookmarks for each question we asked, if you'd prefer to skip around).
For more from the candidates, in their own words: We invited the major Democratic hopefuls to share an oped that pitched their housing plans to New Yorkers. Zohran Mamdani, Michael Blake and Scott Stringer took us up on the offer.

What about that comptroller race? The two frontrunners competing to be the city's next fiscal watchdog both say they'd leverage pension funds to help finance affordable housing, though they'd take different approaches.
Early voting for the primary starts Saturday. Primary Day is June 24. Look up your local poll sites here. Check your voter registration status here.
