The plan could auction off waters in the Gulf of Mexico, Pacific, Atlantic and Arctic Oceans, jeopardizing our coastal communities, public health, and the environment to benefit Big Oil and Gas. |

We need to act quickly. For years, LCV and our movement have fought attempts to expand offshore drilling — and won. But we need to take action now to prevent new offshore leases that would lock our nation into decades more fossil fuel dependency and environmental destruction. |

Expanding offshore drilling will only threaten our waters and coastal communities and increase our dependence on dirty fossil fuels. We have seen firsthand its destructive effects, from the devastating health impacts caused by toxic pollution and climate-fueled extreme weather, to threats to industries that coastal economies rely on — such as tourism, fishing, and recreation — which support millions of jobs. By giving the oil industry more control over our waters, the Trump administration would increase economic and health risks for coastal communities and all of us. |
