[[link removed]]CAMPAIGNS UPDATE
June 2025

Dear John

Summer has arrived, bringing with it long, golden evenings and the perfect excuse to get outside and reconnect with nature
[[link removed]] . Now is the perfect time to keep an eye out for fledgling birds in your garden
and butterflies dancing among the flowers.

We’ve got some exciting updates to share with you this month! From the latest on
our rooftop solar project to new developments in our Hedgerow Heroes initiative,
there’s plenty to explore below.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OUR HEDGEROW HEROES
We’ve just wrapped up our fourth successful year of hedgerow planting, with
local groups planting and restoring over 28,000 metres of hedgerow far
surpassing the original target of 18,820 metres! It's been an incredible year,
and thanks to everyone's hard work, we've now planted a total of 66 miles of
hedgerow.

THE LATEST ON ROOFTOP SOLAR
Did you hear the news [[link removed]] ? Recently, the government announced
[[link removed]] that solar panels are to be fitted on new-build homes in England by 2027.

This milestone wouldn’t have happened without your support. For over two years,
thousands of you have campaigned with us to advocate for change, with over
10,000 of you backing the Sunshine Bill this January, calling for solar on all
suitable new homes — and the government listened.

Now, let's keep the momentum going and ask the government
[[link removed]] to brighten up big roofspaces and make the best use of finite land.
