Report: polls likely underestimating President Trump's election chances in battleground states ... just like they did in 2016. "While the outlet contends that pollsters aren’t 'deliberately skewing their surveys against the president and his party,” but says they 'are still grappling with the problems that plagued those polls four years ago.' The problem is particularly concerning with polls in battleground states, the Politico reported." (Daily Wire) The polls in 2016 predicted a big win for Hillary Clinton (including this one from the night before Election Day!) ... except we now know the opposite was true as President Trump swept the electoral map.
Polls now show Joe Biden with a big lead in battleground states. But the same polling errors in 2016 may be repeating in 2020, according to one report.
As Democratic Congresswoman Debbie Dingell said of Biden's supposed lead, "Some people say, ‘Oh, look at the numbers. I don’t believe these numbers."
Experts warn that North Korea "will likely attack the U.S. presidential election" this year. "North Korea will likely attack the U.S. presidential election in November, experts warn, as Kim Jong Un's regime already has threatened that possibility. 'North Korea will be able to test how far and to what extent it can damage the U.S. election system,' Sung-Yoon Lee, the Kim Koo-Korea Foundation professor in Korean Studies at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, predicted." (Fox News) As Professor Sung-Yoon Lee noted, "North Korea's cyber abilities are simply one of the best in the world." And they may be put to use in attempts at a cyber-attack on the U.S. elections this year -- though not to change the outcome, experts explained.
The U.S. government has already increased funding to states for cybersecurity ahead of the November elections.
President George W. Bush hits the campaign trail, too, to fundraise for GOP Senators. "Former President George W. Bush plans to headline a fundraiser later this month on behalf of Senators Martha McSally (R-AZ), Cory Gardner (R-CO), Thom Tillis (R-NC), and Susan Collins (R-ME), four incumbents who have found themselves in highly competitive Senate races." (Daily Wire) Shortly after it was announced President Obama would fundraise for Joe Biden, there's news of a political fundraiser with President George W. Bush.
But President Bush will stay focused on the U.S. Senate as he joins a virtual event with Sens. Collins, Gardner, McSally, and Tillis, all of whom face a tough electoral battle this year.
Amazon will fund a Stacy Abrams-directed documentary that stars ... Stacy Abrams. "Tech giant Amazon announced Wednesday its funding of an activist documentary for Stacey Abrams, the latest losing Democrat candidate for governor of Georgia. Since her loss in 2018, Abrams has claimed without evidence that she really won the election, and her opponent Brian Kemp tampered with the results through voter suppression." (The Federalist) A new film about Stacy Abrams, funded by Amazon and directed by Abrams, will be released before the November 2020 election.
Abrams, previously the Democratic Leader in the Georgia House, lost a run for governor in the state in 2018. But, as National Review has noted, "her insistence that Brian Kemp and the Republicans stole the election from her has now become an article of faith among Democrats."
