When I talk about fighting for the Central Valley, I’m talking about everyone.
Illnesses like Valley Fever don’t care about whether you’re Democrat, Republican, or didn’t vote last election – and neither do I. They affect all of us.
Valley Fever cases are skyrocketing here in California. It’s caused by breathing in dust, which, if you haven't driven down the 5 lately, is plentiful here in the Central Valley.
Most people clear an infection without even noticing it. But for others, it leads to serious complications. When the spores move from the lungs to the brain, it can cause a dangerous form of meningitis.
Right now, it’s hitting our communities hard.
Too many people get sick and don’t even know what’s wrong for weeks. By the time they finally get diagnosed, they’ve already missed work, racked up medical bills, or worse. It shouldn’t be this hard to get answers or get care.
Meanwhile, our current representative just voted to gut Medicaid – stripping healthcare from thousands of people right here in the Valley.
At a time when families are struggling to afford prescriptions, doctor visits, and basic care, he sided with MAGA politicians and corporate donors instead of the people he was elected to represent.
Enough is enough.
We need leaders who will fight for stronger public health systems, earlier diagnoses for diseases like Valley Fever, and affordable care for everyone
