We Will Not Back Down

This week, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled 2 to 1 against Olympus Spa, a women-only, faith-based Korean spa in Washington, and in doing so, failed to protect the dignity, privacy, and religious freedom of women and girls. But this fight is not over. Pacific Justice Institute is preparing to seek further review. We will continue defending this courageous family of Christian immigrants who are standing for what is right.

As Circuit Judge Lee wrote in his powerful dissent, “Now, under edict from the state, women—and even girls as young as 13 years old—must be nude alongside patrons with exposed male genitalia as they receive treatment.” He rightly stated that the state has “perversely distorted a law that was enacted to safeguard women’s rights to strip women of protections.” PJI agrees. This decision is not justice. It is a betrayal of the very freedoms that law was meant to uphold.

Olympus Spa deserves better. The women of Washington deserve better. This is why PJI is pressing forward and asking for continued prayer, financial support, and public awareness. We will not rest until the rights of women of faith are protected. Stay engaged. Keep praying. And stand with us as we carry this fight forward.
