My name is Kendall Qualls. I wasn’t born into privilege or power. I was raised in Harlem, New York, in the 1960s; a child of divorce and one of several siblings living in public housing. Before I reached middle school, I moved to a trailer park in Oklahoma to live with my father. Neither of my parents finished high school. I didn’t take shortcuts. I worked full-time to put myself through college. I used student loans and paid them back in full. I served as an officer in the United States Army. I earned an MBA from the University of Michigan. Then, I spent 30 years leading teams and driving innovation in the healthcare industry — rising to become Global Vice President of an $850 million business unit. Now, I’m running for Governor of Minnesota to make sure that the principles that lifted me - hard work, faith, family, personal responsibility, and the free enterprise system - are preserved, defended, and passed on to the next generation. We don’t need more government. We need more opportunities. That’s what I’m fighting for, and I need your help. Can I count on your support today? With gratitude, Kendall Qualls |
