[link removed] [[link removed]] Team, Donald Trump’s administration is committing one abuse of power after another.

My colleague, Senator Alex Padilla, was assaulted by federal agents yesterday at a press conference held by Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. He was performing his Constitutional oversight duty as an elected official to question the Secretary, and get answers on behalf of the American people.

Instead of answers, he was met with violence, thrown to the ground, and handcuffed.

And in the aftermath, the Trump administration, including Secretary Noem, have decided to smear my colleague and lie about what happened, instead of apologizing for their gross mishandling of the situation.

This is outrageous, and the kind of thing you expect to see in an authoritarian regime overseas, not the United States of America.

I want you to know that I’m going to keep doing everything I possibly can to stop the Trump administration from flouting the law — on the House floor, through the judicial system, in the media, and at the ballot box.

The Trump Administration's constant attacks on our democracy and abuses of federal power will not be tolerated.
