Building a Healthier Indiana and Putting Farmers First
John,
Governor Mike Braun dedicated his week to advancing the "Make Indiana Healthy
Again" initiative, solidifying Indiana’s reputation as a national leader in
responsible health and nutrition policy. Grounded in America First principles
and a commitment to Farmers First, Governor Braun continues to champion efforts
that prioritize Hoosier agriculture and public health outcomes.
On Monday, Governor Braun convened with Secretary Rollins, Secretary Kennedy,
Congressman Baird, and Governor Sanders for a strategic discussion focused on
restoring the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to its
foundational purpose, promoting nutrition and improving the health of American
families. This meeting underscored the Governor’s belief that federal nutrition
programs must remain aligned with their core mission: empowering citizens
through access to healthy, affordable food.
Later in the week, Governor Braun met with Sarah Frey of Frey Farms during a
policy session at the America First Policy Institute, where they discussed
innovative approaches to expanding access to fresh produce and strengthening
market opportunities for Indiana farmers. This partnership reflects the
Governor Braun's commitment to elevate rural communities and ensure agriculture
remains at the heart of Indiana’s economy and identity.
In addition to his work on food and farming, Governor Braun is also taking
steps to address one of the most pressing issues in healthcare: the rising cost
of prescription drugs. He met with Dr. Mehmet Oz to discuss practical,
patient-centered solutions aimed at reducing drug prices and increasing
transparency.Indiana is quickly becoming a model for states across the country
committed to implementing meaningful public health reform.
As always, thank you for being a part of our team. Please feel free to reach
out if there's anything I can assist with.

Congressman Baird, and Governor Sanders to discuss SNAP. Governor Braun hopes
to return SNAP to its proper purpose of nutrition and work to align his agenda
with the Make America Healthy Again movement.
