I’ve been in politics a long damn time. I’ve heard a lot of nonsense. But what Senator Joni Ernst just said? That was a first for me.
When she was asked about cuts to Medicaid and SNAP and how they’d kill people, her answer was: “Well, we’re all going to die.”
You just can’t make this stuff up.
These Republicans have stopped even pretending to care. They’re slashing health care, kicking folks off food assistance, and when people call them out for the real-life harm they’re causing, their response is basically: Tough luck, you’re gonna die anyway.
Let me tell you what this is really about: Trump and his buddies in Congress are pushing a so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” that gives away billions in tax cuts to billionaires — and pays for it by ripping health care away from 10.9 million Americans.
You read that right. Ten. Point. Nine. Million.
And the kicker? That bill will still add $2.4 trillion to the national deficit. They’re not even pretending this is about “fiscal responsibility” anymore. Now they're just committing theft in broad daylight.
Look, I know you’re busy. But this is serious. If we want a government that actually gives a damn about people — we’ve got to flip the Senate. That means beating folks like Joni Ernst and every other senator who thinks your health care is expendable.
