Hi John, welcome to the June edition of our newsletter!
Every month, we will continue to share updates on the important work we’re doing to build enduring political power in states across the country and keep you informed about what role you can play to fight for a progressive future.

☎️ Phonebank with Sister District
|
Last year, Sister District phonebankers made an average of 80,000 calls per top-target candidate — helping us reach over 2 million voters and make thousands of vote plans with our candidates' key voters!
Now, Sister District and our National Phonebank partners are back in full swing to recruit local volunteers, help elect top-priority Democrats to the Virginia House of Delegates, drive votes up the ticket, and help flip the governor’s mansion blue.
🎉 We recently hit 100,000 voter dials and counting in Virginia, thanks to our amazing volunteers! Early outreach is crucial in state races, which are often decided by just a few hundred votes.
Every call helps us send a clear message to Trump and the GOP: Democrats are organizing, energized, and ready to win.
👉 Sign up for a phonebank shift and help us win big in Virginia.

Over the past few weeks, Sister District teams in California rolled out the blue carpet for three of our powerhouse candidates!
Kimberly Pope Adams made a whirlwind five-event, three-team tour through Yolo and Sonoma counties. From wine parties to a stunning sunset auction, these community-led events brought folks together and raised over $50,000 to power Kimberly’s campaign in Virginia. We want to thank every host, donor, and volunteer who made it all possible.
|
Michael Feggans also got a warm (and packed!) welcome on his California swing. Sister District LA’s “Cocktails for Democracy” and Sacramento’s meet-and-greet brought in over $37,000 to protect his key Virginia House seat!
And finally, Lily Franklin went out to see our friends in South Bay and delighted volunteers and donors at their Brunch and Mimosas, Garden Party and Auction, and first ever fundraiser for new team Sister District Garlic City.
These events are a reminder that when we organize with joy and purpose, we build real momentum and raise the resources it takes to win.

💪 RECAP: Fight for Our Future: For the People
|
“I was blown away by the amount of effort and support that came through from Sister District. Not $10,000, tens of thousands of dollars came my way. You know, not a couple hundred phone calls. I think we got to like 60,000 phone calls.” — Senator Darrin Camilleri
In case you missed it: Fight for Our Future: For the People was 🔥
On June 10, activists from across the country joined us for a powerful conversation with Sister District alumni Senator Darrin Camilleri (MI) and Representative Johanny Cepeda-Freytiz (PA). They shared legislative victories, their experiences running with Sister District’s support, and how grassroots organizing drives change.
We also spotlighted volunteer leaders who are building people-powered teams to flip chambers and build long-term power in 2025 and beyond.
In this moment of a frightening and hateful federal administration, state legislatures offer the most powerful, concrete way to protect people’s dignity and rights. Let’s keep up the fight for our future — at the state level, for the people.
