Dear John,
Late last night, Israel launched a series of preemptive strikes against Iran's nuclear program and top military leaders, in response to the Islamic regime's growing aggression and repeated threats to wipe Israel off the map.
Early on Friday morning, local time in the Middle East, Israel launched Operation: Rising Lion, inspired by Numbers 23:24, which was a highly coordinated military operation that involved intricate Mossad missions deep inside Iran.
Iran responded with about 100 drones which Israel was able to intercept.
U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee sent me a text asking for prayer for Israel and Israel's leaders. I assured him we would pray and call others to pray.
Will you join me in praying for Ambassador Huckabee, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and the Israeli people?
Thursday morning during my prayer time I turned to Psalm 46 and began to pray this passage. "The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge... He makes wars to cease to the ends of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two... be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."
We could be witnessing a historic shift in political power in the Middle East. Behind this military clash of power are the spiritual forces clashing as seen in Daniel 10.
Now is the time for the church to stand in prayer! Let us learn to hear from God what he wants to do in these days and agree with him that it should be done. For he has "seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus" (Eph. 2:6).
Christians have long understood that standing with Israel is not merely geopolitical -- it's biblical -- and that Israel holds a unique place in God's plan.
And today, as Israel faces existential threats, the church, followers of Christ, must be unshakable in its support, not because Israel is perfect, but because God's promise is.
That's why we're calling you -- and thousands of believers across America -- to join FRC and sign the pledge to pray for Israel today.
When you sign, you're joining with others to pray Psalm 46 over Israel.
Prime Minister Netanyahu has said that Israel's strike will continue as long as it takes to remove this threat from Iran.
What we've seen so far is just the beginning.
As other countries in the Middle East unsurprisingly condemn Israel's attacks, we must lift our voices in prayer to the Judge of all the Earth. We must ask for God's protection over Israel's civilians and soldiers, for wisdom for its leaders, and for the restraint of evil forces.
At the same time, we must also remember the many fellow believers -- brothers and sisters in Christ -- within Iran. While difficult to accurately ascertain, the underground church in Iran could number in the millions. Let us pray for these believers, as we pray for what God wants to do in Israel.
The Bible commands us to "pray for the peace of Jerusalem" (Psalm 122:6). Today, that command feels especially urgent.
Will you join us?
Heavenly Father, you are our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble. Today we lift up the nation of Israel to you. Amid threats of war, drone attacks, and global unrest, we ask you to be Israel's shield, her defender, her peace. Though the nations rage and kingdoms totter, we will not fear.
You are in the midst of your people -- she shall not be moved. You are the fortress of Israel. You are the God who keeps covenant. Lord, we remember your Word: "He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; He burns the shields with fire." Break the weapons of war, Lord, and confuse the strategies of evil. Cause missiles to fail, attacks to be turned back, and hearts to turn to you. Bring peace, not as the world gives, but as only you can give. Surround the innocent with your protection.
Give Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wisdom from above. Restrain those who seek to destroy and bring justice to those who do evil. Protect your people who know you within Iran, Israel, and the broader Middle East. And above all, Lord, draw hearts in Israel and across the Middle East to Your Son -- Jesus, the Messiah and Prince of Peace. We declare in faith: "The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress." Be exalted in Israel. Be exalted among the nations. Be exalted in the earth. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Sign the Pledge
P.S. Please don't wait. Sign the pledge and commit to praying Psalm 46 over Israel during this critical time. Then, share it with others in your church, family, or small group. Let's cover Israel and the believers in Iran and the Middle East in prayer.
