John,
I’m proud to announce that after yesterday's final vote, the City Council reached an agreement with Mayor Parker and her administration to pass the 2026 budget and the Mayor’s HOME initiative!
We’ve spent the past few months holding budget hearings — including town halls to hear from Philly residents about what services they rely on the most.
Under this budget, we have designated $30M for anti-violence grants, $30M for Vision Zero street safety, and $41.3M in new education investments for youth. Philly will lay the groundwork for 13,500 new housing units and to preserve another 16,500 — the majority of which will be affordable housing. We will support tourism and our small businesses, repave our streets, and more.
This budget reflects our priorities as members of City Council: making sure we deliver on what matters most to Philly residents. No budget is perfect, but this budget addresses the needs of communities across the city in these uncertain times.
These accomplishments wouldn’t be possible without your support. Will you pitch in $10 today to help me continue fighting for the future our city deserves?
