Democrats' Vote Against One Big Beautiful Bill is a Vote for More Riots in Los Angeles

Law-abiding people are sick and tired of seeing violent riots in American cities. Anybody who watched these inflammatory scenes roll out in Los Angeles over the last week sees one more example why we need to pass the One Big Beautiful Bill and why we need to get it to President Trump's desk as soon as possible.

One of the many great provisions in this bill allows us to hire additional Border Patrol Agents and additional ICE agents to keep Americans safe. I'm confident the Senate is going to move quickly to get this bill to the President's desk

Codifying DOGE Cuts

We need to drastically reduce deficit spending in Washington and get back to focusing on the top priorities of the American taxpayer. DOGE identified waste, fraud, and abuse in so many areas of the federal government, and it is time to hold agencies accountable to the American people.

I was proud to introduce H.R. 4, the Rescissions Act of 2025, which codifies President Trump’s cuts to wasteful foreign aid initiatives within the State Department and USAID, as well as woke public broadcasting, including NPR and PBS, at the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which is a business the federal government shouldn’t even be in. I spoke on the House floor in support of the bill, and I’m pleased to share it passed the House earlier this week.

Fighting for Flood Protection

Morganza to the Gulf provides critical flood protection for the thousands of families and businesses who call South Louisiana home and has long been one of my top priorities in Congress.

Earlier this week, I met with the leaders of the Morganza Action Coalition to discuss our continued efforts in fighting for this flood protection project as we enter the 2025 hurricane season.

This piece highlights the jewel of the historic French Quarter, our iconic St. Louis Cathedral, with incredible detail and will showcase our state’s rich heritage for the many Capitol visitors from Louisiana and across the nation for the next year.
