Tomorrow on Flag Day, Donald Trump is “celebrating” his birthday by spending $45 million taxpayer dollars on a military parade—not to honor our troops or our country, but to glorify himself.

Let me be clear: This isn’t patriotism. It’s authoritarianism with a hefty price tag for working families.

At the same time, he’s jeopardizing veterans' care and jobs and ripping away programs like Medicaid and SNAP from working families with his Big Billionaire Bailout bill.

John, Father’s Day is also this weekend. My dad is a Vietnam veteran who was exposed to Agent Orange and gets his healthcare through the VA.

The money being spent on this parade could preserve hundreds of jobs at the VA, help veterans who are food insecure, or fund care for thousands of homeless veterans.

We can’t let this stand, John.

I’m in Congress to fight for families like mine and yours. Trump has stolen too much from our country’s most vulnerable people, and he has no right to use taxpayer dollars for a spectacle like this.
