This is appalling, friend.

In case you missed it: Yesterday, Senator Alex Padilla was thrown to the ground during a press conference. Why? For asking Trump Secretary Kristi Noem a question.

Instead of receiving answers, he was escorted out in handcuffs. I stand with the Senator and with anyone who is seeking accountability for the Trump Administration’s actions.

And the troubling news doesn’t stop there: Tomorrow, on his birthday, Donald Trump is holding a military parade in our nation’s capitol – costing taxpayers upwards of $45 million.

It’s a slap in the face to struggling families in IL-13 and beyond. This Administration will rip away Medicaid funding one day, then spend millions on an unnecessary show of military might the next.

It’s important that we stay engaged, not silenced by the battles ahead. It’s why I’m already focused on keeping this seat blue next year so Democrats have a fighting chance to flip the House majority.

And national Republicans have taken notice – the NRCC has already attacked me. Stand with me in defense of working families and our democracy today with a $3 donation.
