Sydney and I just welcomed our son Cooper to the world. Sydney and Cooper are both doing great, and I truly could not be more grateful.

I wish that was all I was writing to you about. Unfortunately, it’s never that simple these days.

My friend Senator Alex Padilla was shoved, pinned, and handcuffed yesterday. All he was trying to do was ask a question to protect his community. That behavior isn’t about public safety or rule of law. It's a raw abuse of power, and we can’t let it go unchallenged.
