We only have a few weeks left to stop Medicare, Medicaid, and other health care cuts from passing in the Senate.

NNU - Medicare for All!

If the Senate passes Donald Trump and the GOP’s “one big beautiful” budget bill, it will be a disaster for our nation’s health care.

The House already passed its version of the bill, which would slash more than $1 trillion from Medicare, Medicaid, and other health care programs to pay for tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires.

If the Senate successfully passes it, this is what we can expect:

Yale School of Public Health: Proposed changes to Medicaid, other health programs could lead to over 51,000 preventable deaths, researchers warn

Politico: Medicare is a target as Senate GOP faces megabill math issues

Roll Call: 16 million lose insurance under budget bill, other policies: CBO

Republican leaders say their goal is to pass this devastating bill in the Senate and get it on Trump’s desk for his signature by July 4th — that gives us just a few weeks left to stop it.

But there’s reason to hope: some Senate Republicans have expressed doubts about a variety of the budget’s components, especially as public outrage grows. YOU live in a state with at least one Republican senator, and your voice can make a difference.

This bill is NOT a done deal. Help us block it by using our hotline at 202-978-5357 to call your Senator and urge them to vote NO on any cuts to Medicaid and Medicare! Feel free to use our suggested script:

Hi, my name is _______. I am a constituent from Pennsylvania and a nurse/other health care worker/patient/Medicaid recipient. I’m calling today to urge you to oppose any cuts to Medicare or Medicaid. Cuts to these vital programs would take away people’s health care and lead to hospital closures, especially in rural areas, hurting entire communities. This is unacceptable and inhumane. I urge you to vote no on the final budget reconciliation bill if it includes any cuts to Medicare or Medicaid.

Thank you for making your voice heard in this pivotal moment in the fight to protect our care.

In solidarity,

Nurses’ Campaign to Win Medicare for All
