Our country is facing a lot of challenges right now: rising costs, a fragile democracy, worsening climate change, and more. But rather than work with Democrats to address these problems, you know what President Trump is doing this weekend?
He’s throwing a massive military parade in Washington D.C. on his birthday that will cost taxpayers $45 million.
It’s an insult. Trump’s putting on a show that will waste millions of dollars while at the same time complaining about government spending. He’s illegally cut services that working families rely on. He’s cut cancer research that could unlock cures to terrible diseases. He’s cut programs that feed seniors.
And, he’s working with Republicans in Congress to pass the largest cut to Medicaid in history — forcing 16 million people to lose their health care.
While he continues to take away the programs and services that people rely on, he’s frivolously spending money on a birthday party parade.
I'll continue to fight for working families. My message has been clear — we need to kill the bill.
