Last month, the Trump administration announced it will stop paying out $1 billion in federal grants that schools across the country rely on to fund mental health professionals like counselors and social workers.

These grants were created in the wake of the Uvalde shooting through the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act. They’ve helped place mental health professionals in schools, train staff to recognize students in crisis, and connect young people with care before it's too late.

New research published in JAMA Pediatrics confirms that gun violence is the leading cause of death for children and teens in America. The gun lobby is not only blocking life-saving reforms — they’re actively endangering our kids.
