In response to the continued assaults on programs and policies that support economic, social, gender, and racial justice, CLASP released two statements highlighting particularly harmful actions and decisions made by the Trump Administration: 

 
 

CLASP and Union Ratify First Collective Bargaining Agreement 

CLASP and CLASP Workers United, a new employee union represented by the Office and Professional Employees International Union, have ratified their first-ever collective bargaining agreement.

The Children’s Thrive Action Network created briefs on the House of Representatives’ reconciliation bill that focus on specific harms the proposed policies would have on immigrant families and children, including U.S. citizen children.

June 12 | Ashley Burnside and Jesse Fairbanks gave a presentation on block grants, how they work, and the strengths and weaknesses of them as funding streams for public benefit programs to the AIDS Institute.

 

June 11 | Stephanie Schmit spoke on the opening plenary panel titled “Funding What Works: Driving Kindergarten Readiness with Federal Dollars and Local Leadership” at the Strive Together Policy Summit in Washington, D.C. 

 

As part of the Protecting Immigrant Families Coalition’s ongoing series, Juan Gomez spoke at two Congressional briefings the week of June 2nd on health care provisions and tax provisions in the reconciliation bill and how they would impact immigrant families.
