Secretary of State Godlewski Launches Online Services Portal to Bring Government Closer to the People

Modern online services will save Wisconsinites' time and reduce hassle

Madison, WI – Secretary of State Sarah Godlewski today announced the launch of a new online services portal, making it faster and easier for Wisconsinites to access critical Apostille services—no trip to Madison required.

“Whether you’re a family adopting a child from another country, a student preparing to study abroad, or you do business overseas, you shouldn’t have to jump through unnecessary hoops just to get the paperwork you need,” said Secretary Godlewski. “People are busy. Government should work for them—not the other way around.”

The new portal—[link removed]—features a secure online dashboard that allows users to submit Apostille and Authentication orders digitally, make payments, and track progress—all from the comfort of their home. The system also handles media and scheduling requests and is integrated with MyWisconsinID for added security and ease of use.

Previously, the Secretary of State’s Office processed over 15,000 Apostilles and Authentications annually using a paper-only system that required in-person or mail-based payment by cash, check, or money order.

“This isn’t just about convenience—it’s about delivering efficient, responsive government at a time when too many people are seeing the opposite,” Godlewski added. “While some parts of government are cutting back or creating barriers, we’re focused on removing them. This portal is about getting things done—quickly, securely, and with the people of Wisconsin in mind.”

The Secretary of State’s Office is located in the State Capitol, but now, with this virtual expansion, its services are statewide and just a click away.
