Get ready for Better Transport Week!

Hello Supporter

Next week is Better Transport Week! Time to celebrate the transport that connects communities and brings people together.

Better transport does amazing things. It creates a thriving economy and revitalises local areas; it's good for our health and wellbeing, and helps tackle climate change and air pollution.

This year, Better Transport Week takes place from Monday 16 to Sunday 22 June. Funded by the UK Government, the week is being supported by more than 100 organisations.

With fun events, powerful actions, competitions and special offers, it's time to get ready with these five steps...

1. Pledge to use sustainable transport

Let's show how vital and precious sustainable transport is! Sign a pledge to use public transport, car-share, walk, wheel or cycle at least once during Better Transport Week.

2. Book your place at a Better Transport Week event

From Leeds to London, Bristol to Blackpool, there are exciting events all over the country to celebrate Better Transport Week, as well as some enticing online events. And even better - most of them are free to attend. We're especially excited about our FREE Better Transport Conference in Manchester on Friday!

3. Act now to save money

To celebrate Better Transport Week, Transport for West Midlands are offering one week of FREE, unrestricted bus travel on the nBus network. The network covers Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Solihull, Coventry and many more places, so this really is a great offer. Read a flyer with more information, and be sure to sign up before 15 June!

And how about a flight-free holiday to Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Morocco or many other destinations? Byway, the no-fly travel experts, are offering £50 off their trips to mark Better Transport Week. The offer lasts till 31 July - just use the code TRANSPORT50.

4. Get snapping

Take a scenic photo from your train window, and you could win £100 in rail travel vouchers! Together with Scenic Rail Britain, we are running a #ScenicRailView photo competition on social media - join in on Bluesky, Instagram or X.

And next time you're waiting at the bus stop, whether with friends, family or on your tod, take a fun bus stop selfie! On the Tuesday of Better Transport Week we'll be showing our love for buses across social media, so share your selfie then and be sure to tag us!

5. Download the BetterPoints app

As part of Better Transport Week, our partners at BetterPoints are offering four daily £10 prizes for walking/wheeling, cycling, bus and train trips. If you travel by all four modes, you'll be entered into all four draws! Enter the code btw2025 when you register (or tap Menu then add code if you already have the app) to enter the draws.

Download the app to be in with a chance of winning.

That's all for now, but we'll back in touch on Monday when we officially launch Better Transport Week 2025!

Until then...
