If you've been paying attention to the protests happening in every state in America over the past few weeks, you have probably seen police officers in full riot gear, some in tanks, many using excessive force against peaceful protesters.
There is no reason we need high-grade military equipment being used by police departments.
Many studies have shown that militarized police forces are more likely to hurt and kill civilians.
At a time when we still have doctors and nurses on the frontlines of coronavirus wearing trash bags, we need to show where our priorities lie.
