Our nation is on fire.

In response to anti ICE protests in LA, the administration has deployed US Marines to quash the protests, the first time in American history that active duty soldiers have been deployed against citizens.

Trump has also illegally seized control of the CA National Guard and has called for the Director of ICE to arrest California Governor Gavin Newsom.

Rather than standing in solidarity with Governor Newsom and Californians facing the brunt of the US military, some Democrats have joined up with the Republicans and are supporting Trump’s crackdown.

I am, of course, referring to “Democrats” like Sen. Fetterman (D-PA), who have not issued a single statement condemning the administration’s illegal orders to turn our own military against our citizens. No—instead, Fetterman spreads Trump’s talking points attacking peaceful protestors:

Yes, of course, there are a few people causing harm to our cause, but that is the minority—one that Republicans, the media, and the Fettermans of the world amplify.

And if you needed anymore convincing on where his allegiance’s lay, Fetterman was caught getting dinner with Steve Bannon and the editor of Breitbart at MAGA’s favorite DC hangout last night:

I am mortified by what is happening in America. I should note that I am traveling abroad this month, and everywhere I go, I get asked the same question: “What has happened to America?” I truly don’t know how to answer that, other than to say we as Democrats didn’t stay true to our values. As a result, a ruthless white supremacist dictator partnered with a ruthless white supremacist billionaire with endless resources—and they brainwashed the country into voting for them.

In the coming days, more protests are scheduled across the country. Our military will likely be given more illegal orders to attack our own people. This is the constitutional crisis we’ve been bracing for. As Democrats, we cannot give in—not today, not ever. Our country is not a military state. It never has been, and it never will be. We will always denounce violence—whether in Israel or in America. Evil will not triumph, and we will not back down.

I know this email may cause me some headaches when I try to re-enter the country. I do not care. If they silence us, they win. I beg of you: do not remain silent, especially if you are in a position of privilege where you can use your voice.

We must stay vigilant. We must stay unified. We must root out the bad apples in our party—like the Fettermans of this country. We don’t want them. We don’t need them. The days of remaining silent because the D.C. consultant class threatens us are over. We are more powerful than they are. We have the people on our side. We are not going to betray the Democratic Party—we are going to win it back and kick them out once and for all.

We are the party of the working class. We will defend all people, regardless of race, gender, or socioeconomic background. We will fight to restore our credibility with the American people. And just as we are witnessing in real time with the incredible mayoral race and our very own endorsed candidate, Zohran Mamdani, we are going to win the minds and hearts of the American people.

This is our moment. What we do next will determine what kind of country our children inherit. We must fight. Our country deserves it.
