SCAM ALERT: Protect Your Information


The City of Harker Heights has been made aware of a fraudulent Facebook scam targeting our community. The scam falsely claims the City is involved in a major lawsuit, specifically related to water quality, and then attempts to trick individuals into revealing personal information.


This is NOT true.
Do NOT share any personal details.
We are grateful to the vigilant residents who recognized the scam and reported it to us.

To be absolutely clear:
The City of Harker Heights is NOT part of any lawsuit involving water contamination, carcinogens, or toxic substances.


Our water is safe to drink and regularly tested to meet or exceed all State and federal (EPA) and (TCEQ) standards.
Our Public Water System (ID #0140023) holds the prestigious “Superior” rating from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ)—the highest possible designation.
