Dear Team,

CHOICES was founded in 1974 by Black and white feminists in Memphis who were done waiting for access to care. Even after Roe v. Wade was decided, the medical system refused to provide abortion care—so we built our own clinic. Nearly 50 years later when the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe , we stood as Tennessee's last abortion clinic. That didn't happen by chance. It happened thanks to the support of the Center for Reproductive Rights... and people just like you who have stepped up to support abortion rights. [[link removed]]

FUND THE FIGHT [[link removed]]

Since 2014, the Center for Reproductive Rights has been our legal backbone. They helped us challenge restrictive policies, like Amendment 1, which amended the state constitution to remove privacy rights and make abortion illegal or unavailable in Tennessee. They've also helped us navigate a minefield of anti-abortion laws and stay open when so many other clinics were forced to close, turning away patients who needed care. [[link removed]] And when abortion was essentially banned in Tennessee, they helped us open a new clinic in Illinois so we could continue providing critical, comprehensive reproductive care.

2X YOUR IMPACT [[link removed]]

Patients travel from 21 states to see us. And we're still here in Memphis, operating Tennessee's only birth center led by Black midwives, offering care with dignity and safety to communities often left behind. Because of the Center's support, we've been able to be bold, resilient, and courageous in the face of an ever-shifting abortion rights landscape. But this fight is far from over.

The Center's legal and compliance support continues to ensure we can show up for the 16-year-old seeking gender-affirming care, the patient navigating a long journey from a ban state, and the Black mother delivering her baby with dignity and safety. [[link removed]] Together with the Center, we've helped shape state policy, protect our clinics from harmful laws, and stand boldly for reproductive freedom.

This fight isn't a sprint or a marathon, it's a relay. Because of the Center, we've made it this far. Now it’s your turn to lead the charge. Take the baton. Fund the fight. [[link removed]]

Be courageous,
