Friends The treacherous events of this past weekend have been overwhelming. As the attack on immigrants rose to the level of armored vehicles and officers in full riot gear showing up in cities like Paramount to abduct members of our hardworking communities, anger and dissent took to the streets with a vengeance! Our communities came out and literally flooded the streets of LA. Then, the National Guard was called in. The streets of Southern California look like a war zone. Tear gas and rubber bullets flew, and there is no end in sight. So, we must move with the movement. We must organize against these authoritarian tactics and show up however we can. |
FFI began printing our hotline number on business cards so that people who are being detained have a number to call for support once they are inside an immigration detention center. We are flexing to meet the needs of the families who were left behind by answering their calls on our Project Keep Away Hotline. We are mobilizing our followers and communities to engage in rapid response trainings to build our base. We have to keep going. We have to keep building. |
