These first two weeks of August have been devastating for immigrant and refugee communities. The month began with horrifying attacks by extremists with guns. Then, last week, the administration announced new national policies that will make it difficult or impossible for poor and working class immigrants to become Americans.  

In response, Jewish communities across the country have joined protests, vigils and public actions to show that we can fight back — that we can make a difference for immigrants and refugees and can show that many of us still stand for welcome in these challenging times.

HIAS has a list of ways that YOU can help, including volunteering at the border, meeting with your Member of Congress, and donating critical supplies.

Whether you have 30 seconds or two months to give, there is something for you here.
