Current California Governor candidate and former Member of Congress, Katie
Porter, here.

Congress is broken. The biggest chunks of most families’ budgets—housing,
child care, and college—have gotten more and more expensive, but Congress
hasn’t made major investments in generations to bring these costs down for
Americans.

If we want Congress to work better, we need to change the kind of people
we elect.

In my first term in Congress, I started an organization called Truth To
Power that supports a new generation of leadership. Our candidates reject
the broken status quo and are willing to go against the grain if that’s
what it takes to deliver for families.

We only endorse people who put the public interest above their own self
interest. Every single one of our federal candidates commits to supporting
a ban on Congressmembers trading individual stocks.

With all the insider deals and shady business happening in the Trump White
House, there’s a real opportunity for Democrats to earn voters’ trust—and
win back the House—with a strong anti-corruption stance.

work and send a message to Congressmembers and candidates that we demand
leadership that works in our interest?
