John, we just opened our new campaign office in Chicago!

As you can see, right now it’s pretty empty, but we’re working to build a campaign that reaches all over the state — all 102 counties and 12.71 million constituents.

So today, I’m asking you to donate for a few things: 

Every month, we calculate *exactly* how much money we need to raise in order to scale up our organizing, host campaign events across the state, keep the lights on at our new campaign office, and prepare for Republican attacks. 

Growing up my family never had a lot of money. We didn’t drive a nice car. We didn’t go on big vacations or have fancy meals. 

So believe me when I say asking you for money is not something I take lightly. 

But John, this could be the toughest and most expensive Senate race in Illinois history, so when I tell you we need to raise $10,000 every day from emails like this one, it’s because I really need to. 

Trump and MAGA billionaires will spend MILLIONS to attack and defeat Democrats like me. We have to raise a lot of money to win this race. But I can promise you that every single dollar you give will go to real, practical, and essential campaign operations.
